Terms of Service
Last Updated: April 17, 2026 · Effective: April 17, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Shieldly browser extension (the "Extension") and the website shieldly.cc (the "Site"), together the "Service". By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Who Can Use Shieldly
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Shieldly. By using it, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with all applicable laws.
3. License
Subject to these Terms, Shieldly grants you a worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Extension on devices you own or control, for personal or internal business use.
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the Extension or any Pro license key
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Extension except to the extent permitted by applicable law
- Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
- Use the Extension to build a competing product
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Shieldly to:
- Defraud, deceive, or impersonate any real person or entity, or provide fabricated identity information to circumvent identity-verification systems where real identity is legally required (e.g., banking, government services, real payment processing)
- Attempt unauthorized access to any account, service, or system
- Bypass payment, subscription, or licensing of third-party services
- Engage in any activity that violates applicable law or third-party terms of service
- Redistribute or modify demo card numbers for real payment attempts — they use test prefix
4242and are for testing only
Shieldly is a privacy tool, not a fraud tool. You are solely responsible for how you use it.
5. Pro Subscription
5.1 Plans and Pricing
Shieldly Pro is offered as:
- Monthly plan: US $3.99 / month (recurring)
- Yearly plan: US $29.99 / year (recurring, ~37% savings vs. monthly)
Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable taxes or currency conversion fees. We may change prices for new subscriptions with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions will not be affected for the current term.
5.2 Payment Processor
Payments are processed by Creem.io, our third-party payment provider. By purchasing, you also agree to Creem's Terms and Privacy Policy. Shieldly does not receive or store your payment card details.
5.3 Auto-Renewal
Pro subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel any time via the subscription management link sent to you with your purchase receipt, or by contacting [email protected]. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not automatically issue a refund for the current term — see our Refund Policy.
5.4 License Key
Your Pro license key is delivered by email after payment. The license activates one (1) device per seat by default. Validation is performed once at activation and approximately every 24 hours thereafter via our Cloudflare Worker proxy — Pro features continue to work offline between validations. Sharing, selling, or publicly posting your license key is prohibited and may result in revocation without refund.
5.5 Refunds
See our Refund Policy. In short: 7-day no-questions-asked refund for first-time Pro purchases.
6. Virtual Identities & Demo Cards
Virtual identities, demo card numbers, phone numbers, and addresses generated by Shieldly are locally generated placeholder values intended for testing, protecting your privacy on low-trust sites, and form-filling during development. They are not:
- Connected to any real person, bank, or phone carrier
- Valid for real payment transactions (card numbers use the industry test prefix
4242) - Legal to use on services that require verified real identity by law
You are solely responsible for ensuring your use of virtual identities complies with the terms of the services you interact with and with applicable law.
7. Fingerprint Protection Limitations
Fingerprint protection reduces unwanted tracking by adding minor variations to certain browser APIs. It is not a guarantee of anonymity and will not protect against all forms of tracking (e.g., logged-in account tracking, IP-based tracking). Some anti-fraud systems may flag fingerprint-protected sessions as unusual; use the trusted-sites whitelist for banking, healthcare, and government services.
8. Updates
The Extension updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. We may add, modify, or remove features in updates. If a change materially reduces Pro functionality you paid for, we will offer a prorated refund upon request.
9. Intellectual Property
The Shieldly name, logo, UI, code, and documentation are owned by the Shieldly team and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks or brand.
10. Third-Party Services
The Extension interacts with Chrome browser APIs and, for Pro users, with Creem.io for license validation. We are not responsible for outages, bugs, or data practices of third-party services.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. We do not warrant that fingerprint protection or tracker blocking will prevent all tracking.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, in no event shall Shieldly, its maintainers, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) US $50.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Shieldly and its maintainers from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third-party rights or applicable law.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the Extension. We may suspend or terminate your access to Pro features for violations of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your license to the Extension ends; sections that by their nature should survive (Intellectual Property, Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) will survive.
15. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Shieldly operating entity is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved in good faith by contacting [email protected]. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be brought exclusively in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws in your residence grant you additional rights.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via extension update notes or on shieldly.cc, with the "Last Updated" date above revised. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
